madeformywall.com sells art that is generated and printed to order. Contact: contact@madeformywall.com.

What you are buying

The artwork is made for your room, from the photo you upload and the choices you make. It does not exist until you order it, and it is not printed until the order is paid.

The print is produced by Gelato at the facility closest to you.

Colour on screen and in print

What you see on screen and what arrives in the post are not quite the same thing. A screen emits light while paper and canvas reflect it, so colours usually print a little deeper and less bright than they looked in the browser.

How far it shifts depends on your own screen, which is rarely calibrated, and on the material. Matte fine art paper gives deeper, quieter colour than a glossy stock, and canvas has a weave that softens the finest detail. The same artwork on all three formats will not look identical.

A shift of this kind is normal in printing and is not a fault in the goods. A print that is genuinely wrong — the wrong image, visible banding, damage in transit — is a different matter entirely, and is covered below.

Prices

Prices are shown in the currency of the market you are shopping in, and delivery is included. Nothing is added at checkout.

We are not registered for Norwegian VAT, so no VAT is added to the price.

Delivery

Delivery is included in the price. Gelato quotes 4–6 working days on average from order to delivery, production and transport together.

That is an average, not a guarantee. If it has been considerably longer, write to us and we will find out where the parcel is.

The price is all you pay. The print is produced in your own country wherever possible, and if a parcel does cross a border it ships with duties and taxes paid (DDP). You should never receive a customs bill for an order from here.

The right of withdrawal does not apply

The artwork is made to your choices and for your room. Goods like that are exempt from the right of withdrawal under section 22(e) of the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act — goods made to the consumer's specifications, or clearly personalised.

You confirm this at checkout before you pay. We ask for that confirmation because the law requires you to be told about the exemption in advance.

This is only about changing your mind. If the item is damaged or faulty, your statutory rights apply in full — see the next section.

If something is wrong

You have a two-year right to complain under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act. If the parcel arrives damaged, the print is wrong, or it never arrives: send us a photo at contact@madeformywall.com.

We reprint or refund. You should not have to send anything back.

Cancelling

We can cancel as long as printing has not started, and we try automatically when you ask. If the printer has already printed your copy it is too late — the thing has been made, and it is going in the post.

Your photo and your artwork

The photo of the room is yours, and it is deleted as soon as the artwork is made.

The artwork is yours. We do not use it for anything else — not in marketing, not as an example on the site — without asking you first.

What you may not upload

Upload photographs of rooms. Do not upload images you have no right to use, and nothing illegal or offensive.

Every photo is screened automatically, and we may refuse a photo or an order without giving a further reason.

Liability

We are responsible for the goods being as agreed. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or carrier delays, beyond what the law requires of us.

Law and disputes

Norwegian law applies. If we cannot reach agreement, you can take the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Council, Forbrukerrådet.
