Who is responsible

madeformywall.com is run from Norway. Questions about privacy, or about an order, go to contact@madeformywall.com — a person reads it.

The photo you upload

The photo of your room is used for one thing: generating artwork that suits the colours and the style of that room.

Before it goes anywhere it is checked automatically by Google Cloud Vision. That is to avoid sending the image model a photo it would refuse.

Location data and other EXIF information is removed the moment it is uploaded — we never hold a copy carrying the coordinates of your home.

The photo is deleted as soon as the suggestions are made. If something stalls on the way, it is deleted within two hours regardless. It is never shown to another customer, and it is never sent to the printer.

The artwork and the print file

The artwork you have made, and the print file produced from it, are kept for 90 days. That is what lets us answer questions about an order and reprint it if something is wrong. After that they are deleted.

Your order

To send you a parcel we need a name, an address and an email. The address goes to Gelato, who print and ship it.

Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card number never passes through our servers and we do not store it.

Norwegian bookkeeping law requires sales records to be kept for five years. That covers the order and the receipt, not your photo.

Who we share with

Railway — hosting and storage. The services run in the EU and the files are held in Amsterdam.

Google — Gemini generates the artwork, Cloud Vision screens the photo before it is sent there.

Gelato — printing and shipping. They receive the print file and the delivery address, not the photo of your room.

Stripe — payment.

Resend — the emails about your order.

We do not sell anyone's details, and we do not use them for advertising.

Cookies and visitor statistics

Three cookies, and all of them are necessary for the shop to work: one for the basket, one for signing in, and one that gives you access to your own images without creating an account.

We count visits with Umami, which we run on our own server. It sets no cookies, and your IP address is not stored — it goes into a daily, salted value that cannot be turned back into you or followed to the next day. We can see which pages are visited, from which country and what kind of device, and how many people complete a purchase. Not who. We also count which steps of creating artwork are reached and which choices are made — such as style, format and size — so we can see where the process is unclear.

Addresses containing an order number are masked before anything is sent, and if you have Do Not Track switched on in your browser we do not count you at all.

No advertising, no sharing with anyone, and nothing that follows you to other sites. That is why you are not met with a consent banner here.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to contact@madeformywall.com.

If you disagree with how we handle your data you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
